The company is backed by strategic investors Time Warner and Intel Capital and boasts global partnerships with Tencent, NHN and Facebook. CrowdStar's games can be found across multiple platforms including Apple's iOS, Google Play, Amazon and Microsoft.
Jeff is the CEO and co-founder of CrowdStar. Before CrowdStar, he was an early employee at Secret Level, a San Francisco game studio, where he held the role of Creative Director. Whether it's running long queries or running long distance, Jeff is always focused on the numbers. His favorite phrases are "look" and "FYI".
Jose (known to all as Tachu) heads up the Engineering department at CrowdStar. Tachu held engineering positions at Kickapps Corporation/Yuku, Cisco and Ezboard before joining CrowdStar. Tachu studied finance at Universidad Francisco Marroquin in Guatemala and is an avid football (as in soccer) fan.
Tory is VP of Finance and Administration. She has led Finance teams in the internet and mobile spaces and previously worked for Yahoo and Vodafone. She grew up in the UK and studied mathematics at Oxford and Stanford. She spends her spare time cycling up mountains. Contrary to popular belief, Tory Bourne is not related to Jason Bourne whatsoever; however, her skills are comparable or even better.
Blair is heading CrowdStar's Brand team for Covet Fashion as well as Marketing after successfully leading Virals & Engagement, Product Strategy, Mobile, and probably something else. Blair previously worked at Playdom and eBay and studied Public Policy and Economics at Duke.
Randy heads up global business development focused on bringing CrowdStar's mobile social games around the world. Randy also manages the company's strategic partnerships and is leading the Fantasy game studio. Prior to joining CrowdStar, Randy was with Symbio, Silicon Valley Bank, iAsiaWorks and co-founded Sparktech Corporation. Randy studied Engineering at Santa Clara University and has his MBA from UC Davis. Randy loves playing basketball and wishes he played in the NBA.
George oversees production of all art and leads the art team at CrowdStar. Prior to CrowdStar, George was with Secret Level/Sega of America and LucasArts and spent many years in the web industry. George has a degree in architecture from Miami University of Ohio and still thinks that one day he might become an architect.
Board of Directors
Rachel Lam is SVP and Group Managing Director of the Time Warner Investments group.
Before returning to Time Warner in 2001, Ms. Lam was a principal at Quetzal/Chase Capital Partners, and before that was VP, U.S. private equity at CSFB Equity Partners. Prior to that, she was director, office of the president at Time Warner Inc., where she worked directly for former Time Warner CEO Dick Parsons. In addition, Ms. Lam spent several years in investment banking including at Credit Suisse First Boston and Morgan Stanley.
Ms. Lam received a B.S. degree in industrial engineering and operations research from U.C. Berkeley and an M.B.A. degree from Harvard Business School.
Peter Relan is the co-founder of CrowdStar, Inc. and serves as its Chairman. He is also the Founder and Chairman of YouWeb and co-founder of Spaceport, Pluto, and Agawi. He has 25 years of technology, executive management, and serial entrepreneurship experience and has been involved in the Internet as an ArpaNet research engineer since 1983 even before the Web came along.
Mr. Relan has been actively involved in angel investments and Advisory Boards for over 10 years, including ZipPay, X.Com, Scient, FastForward Networks, Billeo, OpenFeint (co-founder), Sibbingz, iSwifter, and CytoBank in their early stages.
Mr. Relan received a M.S. in Engineering Management from Stanford University, where he graduated as a Hewlett Packard Resident Fellow, and a B.S. in Computer Science from UCLA.
Jeffrey Tseng is CEO and co-founder of CrowdStar, Inc. Mr. Tseng serves on the Board of Directors as President and previously acted as General Manager of products.
Before CrowdStar, Mr. Tseng spent over 10 years in the console gaming industry, rising to VP of Development and Creative Director. Mr. Tseng was one of the core team at Secret Level, acquired by Sega in 2006, and was Producer or Director on major titles such as Star Wars: Starfighter Xbox and Iron Man for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Mr. Tseng is leveraging his extensive gaming experience to lead CrowdStar in building innovative products on mobile.
Mr. Tseng received a B.S. in Computer Science Engineering from Cornell University.
